Final Weekend of TX Season at the Coast(a few pics)

Finally got the new axle on Keiths old boat trailer. Got the prop unpitched enough to let the felber motor wind up some more, and found the cracked hull leak not bad enough to worry about on a test run, so we took a chance and ran to Port OConnor. Not the best chance, last weekend and all, BUT we had a great guide with Marshall giving us areas to look at, and a place to stay. And for the last weekend, I was really surprised with the results.
Boat is far from tuned perfect and at 16x8 and a hook in the bottom of the hull, and the 454 with the prop still not right and the carb without a good tune on it, it pulled off some wet/dry sand with 4 folks, 108 dekes, coolers, gear etc..... and I carry survival stuff at all times. IE plenty of weight. Even had it up on a crab trap on dry ground with oysters all over it and it popped free. So we are headed in the right direction.
Overall the purchase from Keith was a good deal, it has a small cage for some silly reason, IE they didn't make the cage as large as they could which was dumb, but thats going to be fixed, and we will weld up a grass rake and then work on a few other things to tweak it my direction.
I'm not in the pictures but 3 of the 4 have airboats and the 4th, Kaleb, is going to buy my old caddy. Richard has a Panther and 0540, Cody has a 15 foot hull with a 350 and mine is Keiths old Ronnies with 454 felber.
I've not had a better host ever than Marshall. The man is a wealth of airboat, fishing and hunting info.

PS re-reading, I was not knocking Keiths old boat or the deal he gave me, just noting that even though in its current stage its far from perfect, its still running just fine and gets it done so far for us and seems much safer in 80 foot deep water than my rivermaster....Keith was only a gentleman to deal with and enjoyed meeting his lovely wife Carol.
