In our hunting club it's about half n half.(about 20 boats) I ran a 150 lycoming for22 yrs, a 220 gpu for 10 -12 and now a c/m. Not many places for a/c parts down here. I love my big block but, an 0540 on a kline hull is sweeeeet.
I still have the 220 gpu(broke crank right now - working on it), Tried to talk my lovely bride into selling the 220 gpu and build her a 12 -13 ft deckover ride boat with an 0540, She said no, she likes driving the 220 gpu....Been married to her for 28 wonderful yrs, she knows my logic always has a hidden purpose... What????
Think!
